Sophie Howe

Sophie Howe LL.B (Hons) (born 1978) is a Welsh Labour politician, currently a councillor for Whitchurch & Tongwynlais.
Howe works as the legal services manager for the Equal Opportunities Commission in Wales[1], where she advises individuals on sex discrimination and champions gender equality. She was elected as a councillor representing Whitchurch & Tongwynlais ward of Cardiff on 6 May 1999, the youngest councillor in Wales at the age of 21. Howe serves on the Children and Young People and Business Committees. She also serves on Amersham Local Liaison Committee and The Womens Workshop/Cardiff Training Centre Ltd
On 10 December 2006 Howe was selected as the prospective National Assembly for Wales candidate for Cardiff North, replacing sitting member Sue Essex who is standing down in the forth coming 2007 Assembly Elections[2]
Married to Ceri with two children and expecting her third in March 2007, Howe's political interests are based around stong families and family issues
