Stacey Cornbred was a fictional character and former interviewer of the fighters in the animated series Celebrity Deathmatch, from 1998 to 1999, on MTV. She was voiced by Mz. L. Stacey was a very competent interviewer on the show, and was well-liked by the other characters, such as the hosts.
[edit] Death
Stacey spontaneously combusted after the main event fight between Gwyneth Paltrow and Winona Ryder, in episode 2-16, "The Prophecy." The following episode was dedicated to her memory.
She was replaced in the series by Debbie Matenopoulos (voiced by herself), a much worse interviewer who never measured up to how likeable Stacey was.
[edit] Brief Return
Stacey made a brief return in episode 3-17, "Halloween Episode II." She was reanimated as a zombie to challenge Debbie in the main event, where she was defeated (messily) and put back to rest.
[edit] Trivia
- The new CDM interviewer Tally Wong has referenced her three times when she is angry by saying, What are you going to do, bring back Stacey Cornbred?
