Steamshovel Press

Steamshovel Press is a magazine currently devoted to Conspiracy theories and Parapolitics. It was co-founded by Philip Gounis, a St. Louis poet, and Kenn Thomas, a St. Louis writer. It grew out of a radio show Gounis and Thomas anchored on KDHX in St. Louis, and began as an outlet for non-paid writers to publish music and literary criticism. The two writers discovered a mutual interest in the Kennedy Assassination, but after Thomas became more focused on the conspiracy side of the magazine, Gounis’ interest waned and his participation in the publication decreased. Gounis later sued Thomas over the use of the name "Steamshovel Press," and a settlement was reached allowing Thomas to continue to publish. The magazine is available by subscription at Thomas' Web site, [1]. Thomas sells subscriptions and hawks the magazine and his books at conspiracy conferences in Los Angeles, Roswell, Dallas, and other locations where conspiracy stories can be told.
