Sterling Commerce is a company that provides business process integration solutions to organizations in various industries, including retail, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare and telecom. Formerly a subsidiary of Sterling Software, Sterling Commerce became a separate company in 1996. Sterling Commerce is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
SBC Communications Inc. purchased Sterling Commerce in 2000.
With the merger of AT&T Corp. and SBC Communications Inc. in November 2005, Sterling Commerce became an AT&T (NYSE:T) company.
Sterling Commerce was a pioneering provider of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) services.

Since 2005, Sterling Commerce has moved to extend its range of supply chain solutions through a series of acquisitions:
- In 2005, Sterling Commerce acquired Yantra Corporation, a provider of distributed order management and supply chain fulfillment solutions.
- In 2006, Sterling Commerce acquired Nistevo, a leading provider of on-demand transportation management solutions.
- In early 2007, Sterling Commerce acquired Comergent Technologies Inc., a Redwood City, Calif., developer of e-business software, including an application suite that simplifies and improves selling and distributed order management processes for complex products.
