Supergran was a children's television programme about a grandmother with super powers played by Gudrun Ure. It was produced by Tyne Tees Television, and shown on CITV. The show was adapted by Jenny McDade from books written by Forrest Wilson.
It was filmed at various locations around North East England, particularly Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, South Shields and Beamish Museum. The show was set in the fictional town of Chisleton.
The theme song was performed by Billy Connolly. The full version was released as a single in March 1985 and reached number 32 in the UK singles chart.
Many guest stars appeared on the programme, including Spike Milligan and Charles Hawtrey. It was Patrick Troughton's final television appearance.

[edit] Computer games
Adventure Soft produced a text adventure based on the show, written by Brian Howarth, who wrote many of the Topologika games. The premise is that Supergran has to save people whilst looking out for Scunner Campbell [1].
Another Supergran game was released in 1985 by Tynesoft for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC. This was an action game involving Supergran's anti-gravity belt.
