T Third Street
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The T Third Street is a Muni Metro line in San Francisco, California that began weekend service on January 13, 2007, with full service (seven days a week) beginning on April 7, 2007.[1]
It is the first new light rail line in San Francisco in more than half a century, and the first fully accessible line in the system. It runs along the newly constructed light-rail tracks on Third Street and Bayshore Boulevard in the Visitacion Valley, Bayview/Hunters Point, Dogpatch, and Mission Bay neighborhoods, connecting to the existing Muni Metro system along the southern Embarcadero and below Market Street, and will eventually replace the 15 Third bus line and the S Castro Shuttle peak-hour Metro line.

Upon commencement of full service, the first segment of the line will replace the S Castro Shuttle peak-hour only line in the Market Street Subway.
The second segment uses three street-level high platform stops on the Embarcadero currently used by the N Judah line. Once full service on the T line begins, service on the N line will be truncated to Embarcadero Station.
