Taiyando
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Taiyando is a Brazilian martial art.
The founder is João Alberto Scherk (physical education teacher and Shikokan karate black belt) who, after having studied Kung Fu, Judo, Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan, and Kyokushin and Goju-Ryu Karate, elaborated a single and objective self-defense and physics conditioning method since, according to him, traditional martial arts were not able to upgrade across time or adapt to other countries outside their origin.
Taiyando was created with the idea of always upgrading itself along with Brazilian society's trends and requirements, not only as a self-defense method, but also as a modern and efficient way to train the body, so necessary to current life.
