Talk:Tamarin (JIT)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Disambiguation
I removed the link to the disambiguation page because I thought it was unlikely someone would find themselves on "Tamarin (JIT)" while looking for information on monkeys. My change was reverted. Why do you think there should be a link to the disambiguation page?
- Because it is general practice which doesn't hurt the page, and I don't think it all that unlikely. --Gwern (contribs) 16:03, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

- I agree that a disambiguation link isn't needed here. The only way somebody would end up at "Tamarin (JIT)" while trying to get to "Tamarin" is if they did a search for "Tamarin" and randomly chose a result halfway down the page. Gwern claims this is general practice, but I don't recall seeing any other articles named "foo (bar)" with a link to "foo (disambiguation)" unless the page for "foo" automatically redirected to "foo (bar)". Do you have any examples? This really is a minor issue though, and not worth getting into an edit war over. Herorev 17:42, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

- If two people disagree with me, fine - I'll go with the majority here. As you said it is not all that serious. --Gwern (contribs) 18:04, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
