Tapash Baisya (Bengali: তাপস বৈশ্য ) (born 25 December 1982 in Sylhet) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. Tapash Baisya is one of Bangladesh's best pace bowlers to date, having taken 36 Test wickets, although they have come at a bowling average of nearly 60. Nevertheless, he has taken the second-most wickets of any Bangladeshi fast bowler, behind Mashrafe Mortaza. Baisya has, however, only taken four wickets in a Test innings once - he took four for 72 against West Indies on their 2002-03 tour of Bangladesh. However, two of those wickets were Daren Powell and Jermaine Lawson, batting at nine and eleven respectively. With the bat he has scored 2 Test 50's as well as a 49.
