- someone asked for a link so i replied:
- http://www.myspace.com/gvkmartelentete martelentete made power vs power 4, you can hear tracks on their site
- http://www.toolboxrecords.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Power%20Versus%20Power&search_label=on toolbox listings for power vs power label
- and since i didnt hear of horrorcore either and that seems to be an american hip hop phenomenon, i should qualify my question and ask where in the world terrorcore is used. i didnt hear of it in holland.Mujinga 15:12, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
ok so now its clear to me from reading the comments on the article history page that this is a nonsense term from one pseudo-classificatory website: http://www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html. if i may quote 80.177.65.182, he says "this whole article is a load of crap, if anything its terror not terrorcore. f**king ishtak and his f**king shitty guide" and "Theres no such genre as terrorcore. Its just what some people sometimes (mistakenly) call gabber or speedcore - this article is partly taken from Ishkur's guide - which is a joke website". I concur. Mujinga 19:10, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- There are plenty of electronica artists that consider themselves "Terrorcore" - The Violator, X-Syndrome, Nord-Alliance, Star-Flash, CRC Error and Polinar are just a couple off the top of my head. While I personally think this genre is terrible, it is a legitamate branch of hardcore. Greg Birdsall 18:37, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, I googled the artists you mention and they are all on a compilation cd entitled 'terrorcore'. in most places it is listed under hardcore, speedcore and/or terror. I still reckon terror is a better term (not that it really matters, but you know!)Mujinga 19:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Ah-ha! Thanks for listening. There is a propensity to take just about any term and slap 'core' on the end. These artists that consider themselves Terrorcore probably just make gabber and speedcore but want to repackage themselves to make them look new and fresh. I doubt any of their influences, techniques and sample material make themselves distinct from those used in gabber or speedcore. The dutch use the umbrella term 'terror' to describe almost anything hardcore than isnt new skool gabber including speedcore and hardcore techno from places like the UK (rebelscum, deathchant) or France. Its a regional term at best. 80.177.65.182 15:54, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Though the word "terror" is used more frequently than "terrorcore" it's its own style of hardcore. The main difference between terror and speedcore is that terror is more focused on being hard and on the "terror" element (which is hard to discribe) and speedcore is more focused on bpm. /Jiiimbooh 01:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
So when can we remove this non-existent sub-genre then? 80.177.65.182 15:52, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- to borrow a phrase, just do it. Mujinga 22:28, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Nope, no one calls it "Terrorcore". It's simply called "Terror".
How is this notable?
