[edit] The Beatles?
The article says, "It should be worth noting that they almost chose the name: The Beatles, which John Lennon later named his band in homage to Holly and the Crickets." This seems wrong in so many ways. It makes assumptions:
- The group would have called itself The Beatles as opposed to The Beetles..?
- John Lennon's band..? Presumably the other members of The Beatles also considered it to be Lennon's band? Apparently the suggestion for the name was by Larry Parnes, and was possibly a nod to The Crickets.
- No citation: who says they "almost" chose that name?
