[edit] Poster
- It is more or less confirmed that Batista is returing for the Great American Bash. And there was a poster of him up there a few days ago, so I say keep it. Cause a LOT of poster's get shown month or 2 ahead of time. Can't be torrie agian cause she's on RAW.
[edit] Batista vs Mark Henry
There is video showcasing this match on WWE.com. So do you think it's official since it's coming from the company itself and add it? Perry 23:26, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Matches change all the time. They were advertising Edge vs. Cena for the WWE Championship recently(including for RAW this Monday) but that obviously won't happen. Matches aren't official before they are announced and can always be changed. TJ Spyke 01:28, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
This match can be confirmed, i was watching WWE RAW and i saw a comercial for this match at the Great American Bash.
Hmm my friend just called and is pretty pissed that his additionis are called nonsense. Both he and i saw a commercial for this match while watching an edition of WWE RAW. Doesnt that count for anything?User:Killswitch Engage

- See the thing is that while you saw it, the rest of the country didn't. WWE deliberately releases its commercials and promos on future events, spoiling the outcomes of matches and whatnot, to the local media. This is stupidly done to attract the interest of fans in that local area. The same thing happened with the Vengeance DX promo. That promo spoiled the return of the DX at Vengeance as it was released roughly 2 months before Vengeance. Another thing is Wikipedia Policy which forbids the addition of spoilers as Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. So please do not post spoilers until they are officially announced on either Raw, SmackDown!, and ECW or WWE.com. Thank you. 3bulletproof16 17:32, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/articles/2772688/animalsources Here's what seems to be confirmation of the Batista VS Henry match at the Bash. Night Bringer 00:56, 7 July 2006 (GMT +10)
People Keep putting up that Batista will be versing Mr. Kennedy but WWE.com say it is still an open challenge. Could someone tell why it is put as that. Bladeboy222 12:45 p.m.(GMT +1)
Smackdown! is usually taped on Tuesdays, so that announcement probably has been made in reality, just not on TV or on WWE.com. We at Wikipedia should maintain kayfabe and leave it as 'Open Challenge' until it is verified on Friday Night to the general public. -MFischer531
Thank you for helping me out on that. Bladeboy222 3:37 p.m.(GMT +1)
[edit] Punjabi Prison
What do you think this match will be? I think it will be some kind of Cage match.--Yugioh73036 04:38, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036
I'm removing mention of this match until it is completely verified. If I can't put Batista vs Henry, then this match can't be posted.User:Killswitch Engage
- We put the Jerry Lawler vs. Tazz ECW One Night Stand match before Lawler accepted, and the same at Vengeance for Orton and Angle. How is this different?--Yugioh73036 02:05, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036
Don't know about you, but I can't think of a time when a match has been proposed and not accepted, especially by a face wrestler (bar Austin/Hogan, which is still in the air about being at wrestlemania 23). Face it -it's gonna happen. I would put my car, house and first born child on it. Kingfisherswift 16:24, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, I can't put Batista vs. Henry and iv'e seen the commercial for the match twice now, including Friday when i watched the commercials, and this match is not technically schedualed, it is only a challenge. I think we should just leave it at Khali has challenged the Undertaker. And for all we know, Taker cold decline the challenge and change the challenge to a match fitting him like Foley did to Edge for WM 22.
- That is possible. Still, Batista vs. Henry is not on WWE.com and I, in OK, have not seen a commercial for it. As far as ads go, the Vengeance poster with Cena and Edge didn't happen, so this might not either. Ads for live events change as well, so this is definitely not confirmed.--Yugioh73036 23:44, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036

- The Punjabi Prison match is a bamboo cage match as shown on Smackdown. Recent news says that Khali has a buggered liver and will not be competing, Big Show has been said to take his place but nothing official. I read this at http://wmf.wm-revolution.com/viewtopic.php?t=1609 which sources from WrestlingObserver.com. 22:36, 22nd July (GMT +10)

- Khali is fine. Lashley's similar condition has been reported on WWE.com. Khali's hasn't. Go figure.Koberulz 15:56, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

- People are going to have to stop changing it until it is reported on WWE.com, Smackdown, Raw, or ECW because it is getting annoying. Blade boy222 18:08, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

- Khali's condition has been confirmed by reliable sites like wrestlingobserver.com and pwinsider.com. However, it's not official unless wwe.com reports it so people should stop replacing him with the Big Show in the match. Also, we don't know for sure what the Punjabi Prison Match is(or if they will even do it now) and that is why the article was deleted and people should stop re-linking to it. TJ Spyke 19:19, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
It's bullshit like this (waiting on WWE.COM's "official word, therefore screwing the paying customer out of advanced warning this close to PPV time) that makes Wikipedia the joke it is in my opinion.
- Then get off of Wikipedia if you think it is a joke. And don't edit it either.--Yugioh73036 20:43, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036
Don't presume to tell me to "get off Wikipedia" punk, I still contriubte accurate information in many more areas. Forgive me if I feel as if the viewing public deserve to know ahead of schedule what they will and won't see. I knew Jokeapedia loves to think Internet dirtsheets are'nt "reliable" to protect kafabe, which the WWE are no longer dedicating themselves too on WWE.COM, but most of the time it's reliable information, displayed even by the recent illnsess affecting Lashley and we had a nunch of idiots thinking Ken Kennedy was'nt accepting the open challenge
Back to your regulary scheduled "let's screw the freaking customers" version of this article folks...though I personally hope it does'nt remain that way for long.
[edit] World Title Match
This has been confirmed see external link.User:Killswitch Engage
Please do not erase the World Title Match as it has been confirmed on WWE.com as shown in the external link i addedUser:Killswitch Engage
- Its cool, as long as it's legit and comes form an official source (Raw, SD!, ECW, WWE.com etc.) Just remember that Wikipedia is absolutely no place for fan rumors, gossip, spoilers, and other nonsense. If you could help me remind newcomers about the Crystal Ball Policy I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. --3bulletproof16 06:37, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Can we find some way to keep people from posting the winner until tomorrow when it's aired?--Yugioh73036 23:33, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036
-
- The article can be Semi-Protected by an admin. Semi-Protection keeps any IP Address and newly registered Users from editing the page. But it's useless now since SmackDown! airs tomorrow.--3bulletproof16 23:39, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] United States Championship
On Smackdown (to be aired 7/7/06), Theodore Long will announce a triple threat match for the great american bash and it will be bobby lashley defending the u.s title against william regal and finlay.
- That is a spoiler. We do not post spoilers. Marks might wonder how people know this and assume you work for WWE or something. If he is going to do it, wait until he says it on Friday.--Yugioh73036 15:11, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036
That isn't a spoiler, you fool, it clearly tells you the match, Bobby Lashley is defending his title in a triple threat against Finlay and William Regal for the United states championship. 'Defending' means it hasn't happened yet. Read the comment before you write anything.
- I know it means it hasn't happened yet, but it also wasn't announced yet. That's what I meant by a spoiler.--Yugioh73036 05:09, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Yugioh73036
Spoiler tags usually hide info that is official. Technically a match isn't official until it is announced on TV or on WWE's official website. TJ Spyke 00:00, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Last Minute Changes
I think the comment about this having the most last minute changes should be removed. That is just speculation since we don't know what last minute changes might have occured at other WWE PPV's. TJ Spyke 21:03, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
The only part i removes was Khali because it hasnt been confirmed on WWE.com.User:Killswitch Engage
PPV is airing right now, and everbody who DID edit the info based on the Observer and other sites were proven accurate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dr. R.K.Z (talk • contribs) .
Well, how'd you folks like to be served some whine with that there crow as you eat it? ^_^ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dr. R.K.Z (talk • contribs) .
Will you stop it? We never said that wouldn't happen. The point is that it wasn't official since WWE never said it and only official matches are supposed to be listed. THAT is why the edits were reverted because it was just a rumors and rumors aren't supposed to be added in. TJ Spyke 01:22, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
should't there bet something about Booker T never losing at Great america bash {~~supermike~~}
[edit] Trivia section
Reverted the trivia section again. Trivia sections are really bad form for a number of reasons. If it's significant, mention it naturally as prose in the article. See Wikipedia:Trivia for an essay about this. --Jtalledo (talk) 18:53, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
It's not really trivia, it's more like notes from the show. Maybe we should follow the suggestion from WP:Trivia and call it something like "Miscellanea". Just putting all that info in the results section makes it look more messy. TJ Spyke 20:53, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Has anyone noticed
Has anyone noticed that it was the great american bash, the US Title woz on the Line and it woz beetween Finlay who is irish and Regal who is english - Sion
-
- yeah... weird... but the match was supposed to include Lashley who's American--Andresg770 21:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Also have you guys noticed that the world champion has never won at TGAB (WWE.) --Debt Jr.
- Talk page is about the article itself and how to improve it, NOT general discussion of the article. RobJ1981 19:08, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wrong link
In the second Great American Bash, in the first match there is a link to the Steve Regal name and it's linked to Darren Matthews more commonly known as Lord Steven Regal or William Regal in WWE. But that is wrong as he didn't show up in the states until 1992. So it should be linked to the correct Steve Regal. This one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Regal
As I don't know how to do it, i'm hoping somebody can fix this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.248.201.207 (talk • contribs).
Took care of it for you. TJ Spyke 23:11, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 2007 Venue
Does anyone know of the confirmed venue for the Great American Bash in 2007? Gerweck.net says it is in Washington D.C but this site says Hershey Pennsylvania.Jayorz12 19:50, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've seen a few site "reporting" that WWE announced DC as the venue, but neither the main WWE site nor the WWE's corporate website say anything about it. I have no problem with it being change IF there is proof that WWE announces it, which I have not seen any proof of. TJ Spyke 19:54, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- I looked on the Giant Center and the Verizon Centers websites and their is no mention of it. There event calendars only go up to March. So there is no way to confirm or deny either venue.Jayorz12 20:24, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cross Brand in 2007
On a wrestling site I was on they showed the p.p.v. poster that included John Cena, King Booker, and Batista. I was trying to figure out why Cena was on it because he's a Raw star, at the bottom of the poster, it had the logos of all three wrestling brands,Raw , SD!, and ECW. must the info I have givin be true in order to be put on TGAB article? Dro Boy -March 6 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dro Boy (talk • contribs).
- The poster was probably BS, even WWE doesn't make posters 4 months early. Unless the info comes from WWE, we don't include it. BTW, sign your posts in the future by typing ~~~~. Also, remember that the Cyber Sunday poster had wrestlers from all 3 brands even though it was just a RAW brand PPV. TJ Spyke 22:21, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've seen the poster, and it totally looks fake. It's faded and so not WWE's normal professionalism. It's a fake poster, clear and simple. Anakinjmt 23:36, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

- That is an obvious fake. TJ Spyke 06:17, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Love the fact that the creator decided to put the WrestleMania 23 logo too, even though WrestleMania 23 would have taken place 3 months before. Nice. -- bulletproof 3:16 06:19, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
