Talk:The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have deleted the following sentence from the article, as the page benjaminbreeg.co.uk seems fake. It is, for instance, not very old; The Wayback Machine has no mention of it, whatsoever. It seem it more likely that the page is one that in some way or another is capitalising on the name of the song. I don't know whether it is an ARG, a tie-in set up by the band, or some person just having some fun, but I remain sceptical that it's genuine.
Under any circumstance, if the excerpt is to be reinstated, it should be rewritten to proper grammar. It's also not a parent of B. Breeg who's telling the story, it's simply a "relative".
- --It's an interesting fact that Benjamin Breeg was an artist really existed, which is disappeared from his home in 1978. His story can be found here: [1] (those are little articles written by one parent of B.Breeg, which is trying to find some information about his disappeared parent). It seems that the song text refers to the story of that Benjamin Breeg.

[edit] Do we really need all those theories?
Benjamin Breeg is just a fake character afterall. It's just a marketing ploy (which has worked very well). I for one think we should just remove all the mention of who he is (the whole Theories section) and just state that he is just a marketing tool. — Prodigenous Zee - 01:58, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
-I'd prefer to keep them in for the time being, the article is a useful place to keep abreast of the current theories. --PopUpPirate 11:44, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

- There are forums and message boards for that. I don't think this is the place for it. At least we should reduce the number of theories, the way it is now it seems like different theories from different people were just added one by one. — Prodigenous Zee - 01:33, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. Have deleted all that ridiculous crap. A lot of it seemed to take the Breeg website as if it was the gospel truth and entirely genuine. Cardinal Wurzel 20:41, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Benjamin Breeg dead?
I was just emailed this link by a friend Benjamin Breeg Dead, it is rather weird don't you think?
- Hee hee hee. Replace the 'benjamin.breeg' at the start with whatever name you want. You silly goose MGlosenger 00:32, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
You mean like MGlosenger is dead? ; )
[edit] Meaning of the Song
The song itself doesn't say anything about a Benjamin Breeg. From the lyrics, I think its about humanity and its inability to deal with all the manmade problems in the world, and the responsibility of individuals and their governments. Its a theme found in other Iron Maiden songs, like "2 Minutes to Midnight". --IronMaidenRocks 21:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
