The Bee is a local radio station broadcasting to the town of Blackburn as well as eastern parts of the county of Lancashire, northern England. The name is a reference to the bee depicted on the coat of arms of Blackburn, symbolising the town's role in the Industrial Revolution.
It won the licence to broadcast to this area in December 2004, and launched on on 1 October 2005.
It is joint-owned by The Local Radio Company, The Radio Business and Local Shareholders. The Bee operated two trial broadcasts in 2001 and 2002 to help win the licence.
