The Heights School

The Heights School is a private, independent, preparatory school for boys in Potomac, Maryland, USA. Its mission is to assist parents in the intellectual, moral, physical, and spiritual education of their sons. The school's Christian orientation and spiritual formation are entrusted to Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Catholic Church founded in 1928. The Heights School offers a comprehensive and challenging liberal arts curriculum that gives a solid foundation in English, Foreign and Classical Languages, History, Math and Science.
In 2002, The Washington Post released a report ranking Washington, D.C. metropolitan high schools using their Challenge Index. The Heights School was ranked second highest among DC metropolitan private schools in terms of quality of academic preparation and advanced placement testing.

- Freddy Adu, the Ghanaian-born soccer wonder-kid, who played for D.C. United when he was only 14, attended the Heights for all of his years in the States, playing as the star for their soccer team. Freddy left The Heights after accepting an offer to join the US National Soccer Team at Bradenton, Florida.
- Both sons of writer William Peter Blatty graduated from The Heights.
