[edit] Plot
Dr Lazarus, a 76-year-old scientist, develops a device that de-ages his entire body. However, trouble arrives in the form of Lady Thaw, who tries to steal the de-aging device and obtain immortality for herself. But it is soon clear that the kindly Dr. Lazarus is more than meets the eye. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the Doctor, the wheels of a trap have been set in motion...

[edit] Continuity
- This episode features Martha's family, which suggests that it is set in the present day. This was confirmed in the Radio Times for the week beginning March 31.
- According to Russell T. Davies in the Radio Times, the trap that is set by the professor's "enigmatic paymaster" will close in The Sound of Drums and/or Last of the Time Lords.
[edit] Trivia
- The Doctor re-dons the dinner jacket & tuxedo that he wore in Rise Of The Cybermen/The Age Of Steel. In the preview clips shown at the end of The Runaway Bride, the Doctor is shown leaping out of the path of an oncoming explosion.
- In the Children in Need concert broadcast on Christmas Day 2006, David Tennant mentions that a hyper sonic sound wave manipulator will be used or made by Doctor Lazarus.
- The website of Doctor Lazarus can be seen at: http://www.lazlabs.co.uk/ However, this is a fan-made site and not an official BBC one.
[edit] Production
- Gatiss's appearance will make him one of a select few to have both written for and acted in the show, and the first of the new series to do so. (Noel Clarke, who played Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, wrote an episode for Torchwood.)
