The Real Dirt on Farmer John is a documentary film about the life of a Midwestern Farmer John. The film received more than a dozen awards, one of which was from the Chicago International Documentary Film Festival, 2005.

The film documents John's struggle to redefine his family farm for over twenty years. Out of the ruins of single-crop agriculture, John creates Angelic Organics. It is one of the largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms in the United States.
