[edit] Fictional character biography
Tigra is the first wife of Darkseid (Uxas), and the mother of Orion. Darkseid was forced by his mother Heggra to marry Tigra against his will. At some point in the past he had her placed in Hyperfreeze for over a thousand years. Once released from Hyperfreeze she was impregnated. After the pact between New Genesis and Apokalips which required an exchange of sons was ratified, Darkseid had an inconsolable Tigra banished from Apokalips.[1]
At one point Tigra told Orion that Darkseid may not be his father and intimated that he might be the son of he dead lover Captain Hathak, in fact Tigra had Lakutha the midwife killed in order to keep identity of Orion's true parentage a secret.
Tigra was later slain by Apokaliptian Suicide Jockeys sent by Justeen, who was acting under Darkseid's orders. [2]
