Timoniel Pérez (born April 8, 1975 in Baní, Dominican Republic) is an outfielder in Minor League Baseball with the Detroit Tigers in their minor league system. The New York Mets signed Pérez as a free agent in 2000, where he played for four years before being traded to the Chicago White Sox.
On February 10, 2006, Cincinnati signed Pérez to a minor-league contract but he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on April 21.[1]
Timo began his time with the Cardinals in the minor leagues and was promoted to the major league team on June 2, 2006. In his first Cardinal at-bat, he was hit in the head with a pitch. Just one month later, on July 3, Perez was sent back down to the Memphis Redbirds. On August 15, Timo was promoted back to the majors but on August 23, he was designated for assignment.
On January 5, 2007, Pérez signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers.[2]
