Today In LA
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Today In LA became the first morning local newscast in Southern California when it debuted on KNBC in 1986, as a half-hour lead-in to The Today Show. It was originally anchored Kent Shocknek, Claudia Aragon, and Christopher Nance. Since then it expanded to one-hour, then ninety minutes, and, finally, two-hours in 2000. The show currently airs from 5am-7am. Since its inception, Today In L.A. has become a top ranked newscast, and inspiration of the local morning news concept. KABC and KCBS began airing morning newscasts in 1989. KTLA and KTTV followed during the early 1990s.
[edit] Promotions
In December of 2006,KNBC started a new ad campaign for Today In LA. The ad campaign features Today In LA reporters and anchors getting ready for that broadcast. Some promotions start of with the anchors (Chris Schauble, and Jennifer Bjorklund) saying, "Every Day I get up a 2AM", and such. Also, they created 3 second promotions in between commercials. The promotions say, "Today In LA, weekdays from 5-7AM on NBC4".
