1908 Tombstone photo, with approximate O.K. Corral fight site area in white. Smaller patch at street corner left of site is where Tom McLaury fell.
The view of Tombstone is from the roof of the Cochise County Courthouse, looking up Third Street (left side of photo) toward the North (top of photo). The street running along the bottom of the photo is Allen Street. Fremont street, on which the fight occurs, is the next street toward the top of the photo.
The white building to the upper right of the photo is Schieffelin Hall, still standing in Tombstone. The O.K. Gunfight Site is marked in white, and is partly in the street just in front of the small cubical white building in the middle of the left side of the photo (about 11 O'Clock from the site in the photo), which is on the opposite side of Fremont from the site. Note Fly's Studio to the right of site, still standing in 1908 (later burns in 1912 and was rebuilt with the help of this photo). The vacant lot where the cowboys collected is to the left of Fry's. The smaller building(s) between Fry's and the corner (which were present during the gunfight) are gone by 1908. The Fremont/3rd St. corner (smaller white spot) is where Tom McLaury fell. Frank McLaury fell on Fremont just in front of the small white cubical building. This is the former residence of Addie Bourland, a dressmaker who lived across from Fry's and was an important witness at the Spicer Hearing. The O.K. Corral entrance is in the photo foreground, near the corner of Third and Allen.
