Trepuzzi

Trepuzzi is a town and comune in the Italian province of Lecce in the Apulia region of south-east Italy.
==History==Trepuzzi is a small village at just 12km. from Lecce,its name came from the three water wells in italian "Tre pozzi" in dialect treppuzzi so Trepuzzi. The ancient folks narrate that during the Turkish invasion in the 13th century all the population went to pray in the major church begging to the Madonna della Assunta a miracle to save them from the barbarians. After few days of pray they saw the Madonna starting to sweat and a gloomy mist was that thick that the Turkish they couldn't see the village and population was safe.Since by then every 15th of August they celebrete la Madonna Dell'Assunta with the traditional procession and fire works after midnight.
