Troy Flavell

Troy Vandem Flavell (born 4 November 1976 in Otahuhu, West Auckland) is a New Zealand rugby union player. The 1.95 m, 115 kg (6'4½", 253 lb) Flavell is a current All Black, and mainly plays lock.
He is known for his power in the scrum and his aggressive team play.

Flavell returned to the Blues side in 2007 as the Blues Captain
In October 2005, Flavell returned to New Zealand after a season with Japanese club Toyota Verblitz, opting for a switch to Auckland instead of joining his former team North Harbour (based in North Auckland). He is contracted to Auckland for two seasons.
The 30-year-old forward has played 15 tests for the All Blacks, 43 Super 12 games for the Auckland Blues and 59 games for North Harbour. He has also played rugby for New Zealand Māori.

In his last game for Toyota Verblitz in the 43rd Japan Championships on February 12, 2006 he was part of a team which lost to the top student side, Waseda University. This was the first time that a Top League team had lost to a university team.
