Tully (village), New York

Tully is a village in Onondaga County, New York, USA. The population was 924 at the 2000 census. The name of the village is derived from the Roman orator Marcus Tullius Cicero.
The Village of Tully is in the southeast part of the Town of Tully and is south of Syracuse.

The village was in the former Central New York Military Tract. The community was first settled by outsiders around 1795.
The village was incorporated in 1875.

Tully is located at GR1.
(42.797655, -76.106434)According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Tully is on US Route 11 at the intersection of New York State Route 80.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 924 people, 404 households, and 242 families residing in the village. The population density was 557.4/km² (1,432.6/mi²). There were 431 housing units at an average density of 260.0/km² (668.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.62% White, 0.11% Black or African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.43% from other races, and 1.30% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.76% of the population.
There were 404 households out of which 33.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.6% were married couples living together, 14.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.9% were non-families. 32.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average family size was 2.89.
In the village the population was spread out with 26.4% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 33.1% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 88.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.3 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $39,000, and the median income for a family was $46,563. Males had a median income of $35,375 versus $21,902 for females. The per capita income for the village was $19,688. About 6.0% of families and 9.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.8% of those under age 18 and 8.0% of those age 65 or over.
