Tupolev Tu-214

Tupolev Tu-214 is a medium range twin-engined Russian airliner. Tu-214 is a heavier and more versatile development of the Tupolev Tu-204. It features a very flexible cabin layout for passenger, cargo, and mixed passenger/cargo configurations and is optimized for medium-range routes. It is the cheapest aircraft in its class and has been certified to conform to western standards.

The Tu-214 comes only in one variant but it is available in the following configurations:
- Standard passenger layout of 164 seats in 2 class layout with standard range of 3,600 nautical miles (6670 km)
- Long range version with extra tanks for 4,400 nautical mile (8150 km) range with 164 passengers in 2-class layout
- VIP jet layout of 4,900 nautical mile (9075 km) range with extra tanks
- Tu-214C3 quick-change version for dual-mode operation either as full-freighter or the standard 2-class layout. Conversion to the said modes can be done rapidly.

In August 2006 a total of 8 Tupolev Tu-214 aircraft are in airline service with 14 further orders. Tu-214 users are: Dalavia Far East Airways (4), KrasAir (1) and Rossiya (3). Omskavia has firm orders for 4 aircraft.[1]. Transaero has an additional 10 orders for the aircraft.[2]
