UKTV People is a television channel broadcasting in the United Kingdom as part of the UKTV network of channels. Along with UKTV Documentary it launched on 8 March 2004, replacing UK Horizons, which closed the day before.
The channel is available on Sky Digital and Virgin Media.
The output of the channel is mainly factual programming of a lighter nature, based on the people of the world such as Top Gear and docusoaps like Airport.
None of its content is fresh and produced by the channel, but it is instead bought from other broadcasters such as the BBC, which hold a stake in the UKTV group of companies.
The UKTV People +1 service officially ceased transmission on 18 April 2006 and was replaced by UKTV Drama +1 on 2 May.
