USS Mount Vernon

Several ships in the United States Navy have been named USS Mount Vernon for Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington.
- The first Mount Vernon was built in 1859, purchased in 1861 and sold in 1865.
- The second Mount Vernon was built as Kronprinzesin Cecilie in 1906, commandeered and commissioned in 1917, and decommissioned by the Navy in 1919. Transferred to the war department as the USAT Mount Vernon.
- The third Mount Vernon (AP-22) was commissioned in 1941 and decommissioned in 1946.
- The fourth Mount Vernon (LSD-39) was commissioned in 1972 and decommissioned in 2003.
Another Mount Vernon was renamed Mount Washington in 1861.
