[edit] WikiDefinitions
- wiki-editor - One who modifies wiki pages in any manner which is not blatant vandalism or spam.
- wiki-admin - One who has access to the technical tools needed to protect and delete pages, and block disruptive users. Typically admins use these tools to perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks such as AfD, Speedy Deletes, and thwarting vandals and spammers via blocking & protection of pages. Admins are editors as well, but admin tools are not needed for the editing tasks.
- wiki-spam - is defined quite well by existing guidelines
[edit] My wiki'pinion
- Credentials: The value of academic credentials depends largely on the individual that holds them. Many folks are true scholars who, while pursuing advanced knowledge in their chosen fields, happened to get a degree or two. However, in real life, I have met more than a few people with Masters degrees who were completely clueless and barely literate. They knew how to work the academic system and hung on long enough to collect the paperwork.
- Contributors: All content should be attributable to "reputable published sources", everyone from a grade school student to an expert with many academic credentials can contribute content of value. Chances are that the expert probably has access to more "reputable published sources" than the grade school student, but this shouldn't discount the contributions of the student.

- Since this is cyberspace, I have no way of knowing which, if any, of these groups that you fall into. I will assume good faith in most circumstances, but I must base my regard for you on things which I can observe, such as the quality of your contributions to the wiki.
