I removed this statement for the moment: Following Powell's address, polls show an increase in support within the US.
I googled for polls to support this, and I didn't see any polls. I think it's believable, but I'd be more comfortable if we had a reference and precise numbers before and after. I think precise numbers would be important to hint whether or not the numbers are statistically significant. Loisel 21:19 Feb 6, 2003 (UTC)

I found in lookjapan the statement about Japanese public opinion about War on Iraq.
- "In a telephone poll conducted by Kyodo News in early February nearly 79% of respondents said they oppose a U.S.-led military attack on Iraq. Just 15.5% expressed support." (Feb 20)

- I'm afraid the poll result is worthless unless we know the question they asked. Depending on the conditions the respondent is supposed to assume, there can be up to a FIFTY PER CENT VARIATION in the reported level of support, e.g. if there is a UN Security Council veto and US goes in anyway, espect numbers to be low, but if the UN Security Councill supports a new resolution..
- Iraq crisis, 2003 is the new top level article and focuses on likely impacts. If you like, add 'US-Japan relations' as a potential impact of the crisis, and use this as evidence.

- YOU may conclude, claim, write and defend this sentence. On the basis of this one poll, I won't. Perhaps peace marches, other polls, positions of politicians, etc., can be taken as a whole to back up your conclusion. But don't make such conclusions from one poll whose question we just don't know.

Theres American, World, Opposition and Other views, but no specific Pro war section. I feel that the neutrality of this article is in question, as it does not fully represent Pro War opinions. (User:EatAlbertaBeef 30 April 2005. Sig added)
