Vita-Man
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vita-Man is a Big Bang Comics character who first appeared in Big Bang #21 under the Image Comics range, though he didn't get his own story until World Class Comics #1.
[edit] Alter-Ego
Vita-Man is research scientist Will Wheeler, who discovered a new vitamin that gave him superpowers, which he named "Panacea Pills", the name given to the vitamin after his father created them. With this, he became the superhero Vita-Man (a play on the word vitamin), and later joined the Knights of Justice alongside Ultiman, Venus (comics) and Dr. Stellar.
[edit] Publishing History
The appearances of Vita-Man have been mixed. He first appeared on a supposedly reconstructed comic-book cover from the Golden Age (featured in Big Bang #0), titled as Red Hot Comics #14. This was his metafictional debut in the Big Bang Comics world, and after requests from fans to see Vita-Man in action, he finally appeared in Big Bang #21, but did not receive his own strip until World Class Comics #1.
[edit] Powers and Abilities
The Panacea Pills that give Vita-Man his powers enables him with the power of Superstrength and makes him bulletproof.
Vita-Man is a pastiche of Hourman from DC Comics.
