From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The W.P. Magna Foundation was founded around 1906 by Walther Prescott Magna, a New York City based entrepreneur and philanthropist.
He started to build in the tradition of European salons a circle of artists, scientists and intellectuals to meet for discussions in his mansion. From this meetings a group of supporters for works, persons and events in an interdisciplinary sense emerged.
