I find it rather offensive that this article focusses on the purile English humour to be derived from the name rather than on the actual Bavarian community. Is it legitimate to discuss other cultures from such a blatantly anglophone perspective? And does the joke really have to be spelled out? How embarrassingly foolish this makes the English-speaking world seem. --Doric Loon 08:42, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think the point that Anglophones find it amusing and go there because of it is interesting enough to be in Wikipedia. Part of the fun of Wikipedia is information that's probably not necessary in a boring encyclopedia.
Only if you can prove that they really do go there, and that this amusement is not a phenomenon created (or largely created) within Wiki. We do now have an article Place names with English meanings, where the punning possibilities may be noted. --Doric Loon 08:23, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
