- Meanings
- Wark is a Scots noun for a building, from the noun wark [wark, wA:rk] (work). The verb form is wirk [wIrk, wVrk]. The past tense is wrocht [wroxt].
- "Wark" is a common onomatopoeia for the sound a chicken or alpaca makes. This sound is also the most common sound a Chocobo makes in the Final Fantasy series of video games, although this trend is becoming obsolete as recent offerings have gone with the sound of "kweh".
Finally, it is also the sound Pen Pen, from Evangelion, makes.
