Wedding On A Penny is a website conceived by a Hamilton, Ontario, Canada couple Peter Dolanjski and Milissa Majic, to help raise money for their wedding expenses. Launched in June 2006, the website has so far generated advertisement sales totaling close to 165,000.
The index page of the site consists of a grid of the top 25 purchasers in order of the total number of pennies contributed. A person or business who contributes to the Wedding On A Penny fund, through a variety of methods, is permitted to have a graphic advertisement and link to a website of their choice.
After attaining their goal of 2 million pennies ($20,000 USD - the average cost of a wedding in the United States), Peter and Milissa plan on donating a portion of the additional proceeds to children's charity. The wedding date is set for June of 2008.
