WESO

WESO is a commercial radio station operating at 970 kHZ on the AM band and is based in Southbridge, Massachusetts. Its current owner is Money Matters Radio. The current general manager is Dick Vaughan.
WESO's tag line is "The Spirit 970" and is the "Travel and Tourism Station" of southern Worcester County. In addition, the station is the home of Sound Off, hosted by A.J., as well as an affiliate of the Worcester Tornadoes Radio Network.
The station also broadcasts local high school sporting events, mainly football and basketball. Sean Sweeney, a former sports writer with the Southbridge Evening News, is the station's play-by-play man and works as a one-man broadcast team. Southbridge Evening News sports editor Dave Forbes does the afternoon news and sports Monday through Thursday and helps out with commentary on high school sporting events.
