[edit] Welcome
The purpose of this WikiProject is to create, expand, improve and standardize articles about Mars. This WikiProject is in the process of transition from a Martian geography only project to a general Mars project. Information about the transition can be found on the talk page and at WikiProject Space.

which is proposed to change to: {{WPSS|Mars=yes|class=|importance=}}
Portal: Portal:Mars
[edit] To do list
Complete transition - templates on talk pages need changing to WPMarsThe Mars article needs proof-reading for typos and sentence structure - nearly there...- The Life on Mars page needs a lot of work, would be nice to have it promoted to a good article...
- Geology of Mars needs a discussion of crater types, especially rampart craters and implications for surface composition

[edit] Structure
In general,follow the model of the Mars Reconaissance Orbiter homepage.
An article should contain the following sections:
- History of the spacecraft-> This can include launch issues, end of life of the spacecraft, funding issues, major milestones (Launch, Orbit, landing, major discoveries), etc.
- What was learned from the mission. For newer and future missions, this may not be included.
- Description of scientific instruments
- Description of the spacecraft
- See Also section
- Footnote section
- Other external references
