William Doherty

William Doherty (15 May 1857 Cincinatti-25 May 1901 Nairobi was an American entomologist who specialised in Lepidoptera.
He collected butterflies in India, Burma, the Andaman Islands, Nicobar, Siam, Indo-Malaya New Guinea and British East Africa describing many new species.
His collection is Shared between the Natural History Museum, The Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, the Brooklyn Museum, and the National Museum of Natural History in Washington.
