William Walker was the first person to discover a Baryonyx and has it named after him as Baryonyx Walkeri.[1], [2]

The idea that William Walker discovered Baryonyx has been opposed since the discovery of a box of fossils in the Isle of Wight Museum of fossils discovered before Walker did[3].
