William Wordsworth Fisher

William Wordsworth Fisher (26 March 1875 – 24 June 1937) was a British admiral and captain of the battleship HMS St. Vincent at the Battle of Jutland.
Admiral Fisher was the son of historian Herbert William Fisher, and the brother of H. A. L. Fisher and Florence Henrietta Darwin.
He joined the Royal Navy in 1888 and was trained on HMS Britannia. He reached the rank of Captain in 1912. In 1917 he became Director of the Admiralty Anti-Submarine Division., and after World War I he was appointed Chief of the Staff for the Mediterranean Fleet. He became a rear-admiral in 1922 and a full admiral in 1932. He was knighted in 1929).
