WVSB originally broadcast on 88.1 FM under the call letters WJGF. In 1995, WJGF changed call letters to WVSB and frequency to 104.1 FM, but continued to carry a classic country format. Students from the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind operate the station. Contrary to their 100 watts, WVSB is not a low-powered station.
