Yaldeshev (Uzbek militant)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yaldeshev is a member of the Uzbek ethnic group, alleged to be a military leader allied to the Taliban.[1]
A December 18, 2005 report stated that Baitullah Mehsud, Abdullah Mehsud and Yaldeshev were the subject of a man-hunt.[1] Authorities said they believed that the militants were short of ammunition and would be captured soon. Abdullah Mehsud, a former inmate in the Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba, was reported to have been killed in a shootout in March 2006. Baitullah Mehsud was reported, on June 23, 2006, to have been involved in negotiating another ceasefile with Pakistani forces.[2]
