[edit] Summary
Español: Arco iris circular
This circular Rainbow was observed in Sainte-Marie, Martinique, FWI, April 23st 2004 at 15:50. Shooted by myself using a cameraphone. The rainbow is really circular. I already have taken mp4/3gpp mini-movies, to be published here when possible. The sun is the center of the halo.
This isn't exactly a rainbow. Rainbows occur when the sun is behind you (sunlight refracted within and reflected back out of raindrops). Halos are caused by high altitude ice crystals between you and the sun (or moon) refracting the light. They're common at high latitudes, especially in winter, but tropical halos (like this one) are more rare.
