The Ishibutai Kofun in Asuka. This is the largest crypt in Japan, with the largest stone having a weight of 75 tons. While a kofun is normally covered with earth, this one was uncovered. It is believed but not certain that the Kofun (tomb) belonged to Soga-no-Umako (ca. 620 A.C.), and that it was uncovered because he was unpopular for raising taxes.
