Il London XI era squadra di calcio costituita nel 1955 a Londra.

Questa selezione fu creata grazie all' accordo tra varie società londinesi per ovviare alla regola imposta dalla Federazione Europea (UEFA) in merito alla partecipazione alla Coppa delle Fiere. Le squadre impegnate infatti, che come noto avevano sede in città che ospitavano importanti fiere nazionali, dovevano schierare formazioni composte esclusivamente da giocatori nati nella nazione della città scelta.

Squadre come il Barcellona o l' Inter, che già possedevano buoni vivai e strutture per il potenziamento dei giovani, non ebbero problemi ad allestire buone rappresentative, mentre le società londinesi, notoriamente molto forti, annoverando nelle loro rose un gran numero di giocatori stranieri, rischiavano di non poter partecipare alla coppa.

Il problema fu risolto fondando la London XI che accolse nelle proprie fila vari giocatori britannici provenienti da diverse squadre della capitale e fu in grado di assicurare all'Inghilterra una selezione così dignitosa, che la neonata rosa arrivò addirittra in finale nell' annata 1955/1958 contro il Barcellona che si impose con un secco 6-0 nella partita di ritorno, dopo che all' andata la stessa London XI era riuscita a strapparle un 2-2.
