I am wondering if the English in some topics necessary? (like 대한민국, 심근경색, 나노미터), maybe those are all borrow words from English? I am sorry if I've made mistakes, because I don't speak Korean, nor can read Korean, I am just concerning about the affect of English in Korean, maybe too much? --Samuel 2003년 10월 16일 (木) 17:51 (UTC)

I agree. My personal edit rules for leaving english or non-hangeul words in the article are,
- . When the word is borrowed from english or other languges, to show the etymology. (the same holds for sino-korean words)
- . The names of non-korean people
- . for japanese names I leave both kanji and hiragana
- . for chinese both hanzi(simplified and korean?) and pinying(?)
- . The names of non-korean people
- . When the term is academic. Often there are more than two korean translations competing each other, and knowing english term is helpful for searching more information.

- . 용어가 학술용어일때. 둘이상의 한국어용어가 경쟁관계로 존재할 때도 있고, 영어용어를 아는 것이 더 많은 정보를 얻는 데에 도움이 된다고 생각합니다.

- IMO, if a phrase is from other languages other than Chinese or Japanese, quoting the original written language(not only English, but also Germany, French etc.) is appreciate(like the name of places, people's name). If it's from Chinese or Japanese, leave them in Hanzi if possible. Try to avoid using foreign languages, because readers can easily find them by crosslanguage links above. Some abbreviation which can only be written, like, in English, can be made as a redirect page.(Like lots of abbrev in computer field.) But if there is already a equivalent Korean word, remaining English will not be appreciate, like that in article "Seoul". I think Korean Wikipedia is more than just a English-Korean encyclopedia. --Samuel 2003년 10월 21일 (火) 10:42 (UTC)
