Talk:Main Page
From Wikipedia
On the list of Wikipedias (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias), it says there is one article in this version. There seems to be more than one article, but maybe only one in Kanuri?

[edit] Issue of keeping this Wikipedia
This Wikipedia should be kept. I'm sure there is interest, but there certainly hasn't been much effort to cultivate it - yet. It's a major language of northeastern Nigeria, southeastern Niger, and (if we consider it together with closely related Kanembu) into Chad. More soon... A12n
[edit] Request to keep
This Wikipedia needs 100 articles to get on the Main Page at www.wikipedia.org.
Why?
1.Most native Kanuri speakers don't speak English well enough to dig through "Other Languages" to dig around to find this wiki at the 1+ articles screen. 2.Most native Kanuri speakers cannot find this wiki if I can't. 3.How do I know? There has never been an edit on this wiki in Kanuri. 4.There is no discussion on Meta and the delete wiki tag should be taken off.
User:Pill has personally blocked me for doing this many times, just pasting in articles so we can try for 100 and actual Kanuri articles. He doesn't speak Kanuri either. If you looked at the edit history of the Main Page, Jorge Taveras cleaned it up to attract more users.
Cordially, Patron of Kanuri Language,
User:Jorge Taveras
- How should a page, that has zero to offer, attract users? Remember the GiGa principle: Garbage in - Garbage out. When we offer nothing but crap, we receive more crap. --217.83.90.198 17:26, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] meta:Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Kanuri Wikipedia
This is the correct address for the closure discussion. Could someone with write access to the main page fix it?--217.83.90.198 16:08, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
