Deutsch: U-Bahnhof Avenue J an der BMT Brighton Line, Blickrichtung Norden. Etwa ein Drittel dieser Strecke verläuft auf einem Bahndamm zwischen Häusern und Gärten hindurch, so dass der Eindruck einer „ganz normalen“ Eisenbahnlinie entsteht. Die Wurzeln dieser Strecke gehen tatsächlich auf eine Ausflugsbahn nach Coney Island zurück, die erst 1920 in das U-Bahn-Netz integriert wurde.
English: Avenue J station at the BMT Brighton Line, looking north. About one third of this line runs upon an embankment between family houses and gardens. One might feel reminded of an “ordinary” railway line. Indeed, the Brighton Line originates from a steam dummy railroad to Coney Island which was integrated into subway service in 1920.
