- L'anneau circulaire représente le cyncroton, c'est à dire un accélérateur de particules qui amène des électrons à de très grandes vitesses. Le synchrotron émet un "rayon synchrotron", principalement constitué de rayons X. Ce rayon est ammené dans différentes directions (Les lignes droites qui rayonent autour du synchrotron). Chaque ligne contient divers instruments de mesure et autres expérimentations, etc., et recoit un intense rayon.

- The circular ring is the synchrotron, i.e. a particle accelerator that brings electrons to very high speeds. The synchrotron emits a "synchrotron radiation", especially X-rays; these are sent into the various beamlines (the straight lines branching out of the synchrotron). Each beamline contains scientific instruments, experiments etc. and receives an intense beam of radiation.

- Der abgebildete große Ring ist das Synchrotron, ein Teilchenbeschleuniger, der Elektronen auf Geschwindigkeiten, nahe der Lichtgeschwindigkeit bringt. Das innere Oval ist eine Strecke zur Vorbeschleunigung, in der das Elektron bereits über 99% der Lichtgeschwindigkeit erreicht. In den acht "Armen" befinden sich wissenschaftliche Geräte, die die Bremsstrahlung der in Kurven abgelenkten Elektronen auffängen und analysieren.
