HI,

Jesus Christ is called येशु ख्रिस्त in marathi. I am not sure about any other words, though I think church is not translated, and is used as it is... Though I will check and tell you if possible.

1. Baptism: बाप्तिस्मा
2. The Church: चर्च
3. Holy Bible: पवित्र बायबल

Hi,

I don't know the Marathi translation of all words. Here are some of them,

• Holy Spirit - दिव्यात्मा
• Washing of the Feet - पादप्रक्षालन
• Holy Communion
• Sabbath Day
• Salvation - मोक्ष
• Final Judgement

Hi, Jose77 My English is not good. But I tries to translate articles English to Marathi. I am new here. I heard about "Sabbath Day", and this was related to Jeus(Judaism?). There translate was - Holy Sabbath Day - पवित्र सब्बाथ दिवस (or पवित्र सब्बाथचा दिवस). "Final Judgement"s description was similarly to some moslem lines. Then, I saw there - Final Judgement - अंतिम न्याय. I didn't know about this "True Jesus Church", I will see more at English Wiki. And - Temple is प्रार्थनास्थळ, Church is चर्च. Temple and Church is diffrent, like this Hindus Temple - Deula, Molems - Mosque. But "True Jesus Church" is noun, then this will trasnlate as ट्रू येशू चर्च. I apreciate that you are quiete enthusiastic towards your cause.You have been writing to us individualy " I know that you are probably not a Christian; however can you please help me translate some sections of this article into the Marathi language?

Any help at all would be very Gratefully Appreciated, Thankyou."

Let me tell you we are still short of translators here. Some one, one day will translate that text as long as it is encyclopedic.

Hopefully you would be aware that wikipedia is a second source encyclopedia that means one has to preferably site first source. So I request you for all possible known sources from where you are citing any facts mentioned in that article.

The second important thing is , I hope you agree for every coin has two sides in this world , and wikipedia is place which gives space to all sides and views as long as it is encyclopedic.So if you share with us information on other side of the coin that is criticism also would be easy for us to maintain a fair standard.Why I am writing like this is because I felt hurt when you mentioned that I know that you are probably not a Christian; How on the earth do you know from my user ID Mahitgar that I am not a Christian; and why do you question and doubt our impartiality, integrity, professionalism on religious basis while we are doing any translations or any other writing here?

My firend, since you are talking of my relegion let me refer about relegion;

If you are not a Christian and still you are making those request or you are a Christian but did some effort in your life to promote good values of all non-Christian religions (without exception) then you have full right to understand and seek help from other fellows with authority of self example and then say I know that you are probably not a Christian;

Please dont feel bad.I belive in need of God to survive and win in this world; but fortunately or unfortunately I always give an ear to a devil also only to find out what is his point of view.

Thanks Jose for showing understanding towards my sentiments.We Indians are very much proud that India is a country which welcomed Christianity even before europeans accepted it, How so ever minority Christianity is not new to India or Maharashtra.Many Christians in Maharashtra use usual Marathi names also and it would be defficult to deffernciate them at the face value.

In any way we will take care and translate the article in Marathi Language.We are thankfull to you for bringng in knowledge to us.We want to welcome all knowledge in our language that includes Christianity too.While we are improving our pace of translations day by day there is a long way to go But please bear with us,we are sure we will do it all soon.

Hi there old friend, I just wanted you to rectify a statement of yours. You wrote "In fact, I have been helped by Hindus, Atheists, Buddhists and even Muslims." in Mahitgarji's page. I think that stressing on Islamic faith by saying "even Muslims" reflects an attitude (which I believe that you do not harbour). These might create unnecesary problems esp. when you are requesting people to translate article about a particular sect of Christianity all over wikipedia. So, if possible, please tone it down. • Certainly I will be helping you, I suppose the Hindi text you want me to translate is a biblical text.I request you to provide orginal english source also so we can confirm if the translation is more acurate.

Another important thing is orginal texts like bible are governed by wiki's sister project.Still in Marathi Wikipedia we do not have wikisource project. Till we get indipendant marathi wikisource project we can have a separate biblical translation project at Marathi Wiktibooks . But to start a sepatarte proper translation project you ought help me with details of exact biblical version and books you are reffering to and if sources are available online it will be more easier for us.

Dear Jose another one more thing is Bible and biblical texts translations in Marathi Hindi etc are having a history atleast of more than couple of centuries atleast.So there would be enough sources available in Marathi already in this regards only we need to get copy right free resources. Dear Jose, Since I am already in discussion with you regarding this topic,I am posting my message here as well as at your talk page.It is true that I have agreed to translate any encyclopedic knowledge.But certainly at Wikipedia stress is on any information being encyclopedic and neutral.You have written to Abhay What's wrong with evangelizing on Wikipedia? ; My friend Jose please do note that Wikipedia certainly is not a place for evangelizing for any religion , not christanity,not hinduism,not muslim.If you find any articles any where on wikipedia those are supposed to be encyclopedia written with Neutral point of view.Even talk pages at wikipedia are supposed to be encyclopedic and one is not supposed to use them for evangelising other person.Please do refer Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines.There are plenty of other online Marathi Blogs and yahoo/orcut groups where in you can do your evanglism nicely , but certainly wikipedia is not the place to do the same.

Secondly,writing on individual talk pages is of not of much benefit to you because dicussions on individual talk pages are not long lasting and do get archived.As I earlier guided you to put your translation requests on page specificaly meant for the same the page name I have given on your talk page already.
