Dumfries and Galloway (Dùn Phris agus Gall-Ghaidhealaibh in het Schots) is één van de council areas van Schotland. In het noorden grenst het aan South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire en South Lanarkshire; in het oosten aan Borders; en het zuiden aan de county van Cumbria in Engeland. Het ligt in het noorden van de Solway Firth en in het oosten aan de Ierse Zee.
Dumfries and Galloway omvat de (traditionele) graafschappen Wigtownshire (in het westen), Kirkcudbrightshire (centrum) en Dumfriesshire (in het oosten).
De regio is bekend geworden door de vele artiesten en schrijvers. Het is ook het toneel van Dorothy L. Sayers novelle Five Red Herrings (1931).
De Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary is het kleinste politiekorps in Groot Brittannië. Van 21 december, 1988 tot november 1991 vond hier het onderzoek plaats naar de bom van Pan Am Flight 103.

De cultfilm The Wicker Man is verfilmd vlakbij lokaties in Dumfries and Galloway, erg opvallend in het Kirkcudbright gebied, in 1972. De actrice Britt Ekland beschrijft het - ter irritatie van de lokaliteiten en iedereen die het gebied kent - als de "the bleakest place on Earth".
